Yabba Dabba Do!

Meet the Flintstones! I spent Halloween weekend in NYC with friends visiting from Boston and DC. Don't you love the group theme?

First treat on my menu - Halloween themed Funfetti cupcakes. I scoured Jo-Ann's, Wal-Mart and Target for the decor.

Shoes: Kelsi Dagger.
Didn't Teddy make a great Bam Bam?! I wasn't a fan of the Pebbles costume in stores so I commissioned my mom to sew a simple dress out of green fleece and we attached the felt spots with spray adhesive.

Wilma and Barney (Kate and Mike) have been together for years and Betty (Rosalin) is engaged to Fred (Andrew). Some people were very confused when we all went out to the bar... costumes just worked out that way.

Wilmaaaaaaa surprised us with "Yabba Dabba Brew" coozies. The only thing we were missing was Dino.

Happy Halloween!

What I'm Loving...

Do you love these plaids heels as much as I do?! Wool flannel and sweaterknit...they are the coziest looking 5" stiletto I've ever seen.

Words cannot describe how much I love this DIY vitamin c mask I learned about from Lindsay at Delighted Momma. It has been part of my Sunday night routine for the past 6 weeks and I have come close to ditching my Clarisonic since this mask provides such great exfoliation. I found the NOW Foods Vitamin C Crystals at my local natural foods store and dedicated one of my larger underutilized makeup brushes for application. I cannot thank Lindsay enough for sharing her amazing tips. (PS. She is hosting an Olive Yew Jewels giveaway!)

Loving that it's almost Halloween! I couldn't resist buying a few decorations for the occasion.Teddy has friends visiting NYC for the weekend and we have a group theme costume planned. I'm still working on my getup...hopefully it turns out as planned. Do you wait until the last minute like me?!

C. Wonder

Are you visiting NYC over the holiday season? (Ahem, The Kentucky Priss that includes you. Counting down the daysssss!) Well, be sure to add C. Wonder to your shopping itinerary!

via Racked

The store founded by Tory Burch's ex-husband Chris Burch opened its doors over the weekend in Soho and looks to be a great mix of jewelry, clothing and housewares at decent prices (average price reported to be around $40 and many under $200).

via Curbed

This looks to be the kind of store that even if you walk out the door empty handed you will leave with an idea. Perhaps you'll see an item at another store (dare I say Home Goods) that has the C. Wonder look or be inspired to mix, match or monogram something you already own. The e-commerce site is coming this fall for those out of the area. I'm hoping to swing by this weekend!

Ali and Dan tied the knot!

Dress: J.McLaughlin. Wrap: BP Nordstrom. Necklace: Francesca's Collections.
Over the weekend Teddy and I headed up to New Bedford, Massachusetts (also known as "The Whaling City") for his college roommate's wedding.

The ceremony was held at Seamen's Bethel, which is referenced in Herman Melville's classic Moby Dick.

We crossed the cobblestone street to the Whaling Museum for the cocktail hour and reception. It doesn't get anymore nautical than this!

The Sam Adams Octoberfest bottles fit right into the orange and navy color scheme. My pictures don't capture the thematic lighting that completely transformed the gallery. Other fall flavors included apple cider and a pumpkin ravioli appetizer that was delish. Not only did we dine below the suspended whale skeletons but danced, danced, danced!

Congratulations Ali and Dan!

Leopard, bows, plaid ... at Kohl's?

Once in awhile I like to pop in Kohl's to check out the LC Lauren Conrad collection. It's really a hit or miss but I do love that she is occasionally photographed out and about wearing pieces from the line. (I hate when celebs slap their name on something I know they wouldn't be caught dead in.) I picked up these flats last weekend along with some new threads.

This top is part of her new Holiday 2011 collection (see more from the lookbook here) - the sleeves are held together by tiny bows down each arm. I don't see it available online so check in store.

If you are in need of an affordable blazer look no further. The grosgrain trim adds a nice touch. More bows!

While I was there I wandered into the Christmas section. I had to get these plaid candy cane ornaments. So much for waiting until after Halloween to kick off the holiday shopping!

Birthday Weekend

On Saturday my girlfriends and I went to see Lehigh play Fordham in the Bronx. We definitely spent more time in the parking lot than the stands. Since most of us were cheerleaders we have lost tailgating time to make up for!

You may recall it was my friend Sara's birthday earlier in the week. Ever since we became friends in college we have been celebrating together since mine is just 5 days later! Our friends always make it a special day for us and Saturday was no less.

"Map 'o Da Bronx" provided by one of my colleagues who is a Fordham alum. I can't say I venture to the Bronx very often so this definitely came in handy finding our way to the stadium. Who needs Google Maps? Random, I just learned that the drink stirrers from Starbucks also serve as a plug. No spilling on the map! Seriously, I know I'm a Dunkin girl but how did I not know this until now? (I'd also like to point out my friend Lindsay's Missoni for Target tote in the corner - so mad I didn't order one! Really cute and sturdy.)

Lehigh doesn't fool around - there was no shortage of morning cocktails! For tradition I brought along pink Funfetti cupcakes. No birthday is complete without them. My mom has been making them for me since I was 6 and I swear hers are the best - my friends will attest to that! (Sara's "green bean" jacket is from Madewell and I want it - available here. Not too late to get a me a birthday present!)

Guess who won the game? Sorry Fordham... Lehigh took the win for our birthday!

Friday's Fancies

You will most likely find me running around on fall weekends wearing leggings (I have a stockpile) and my chesnut Uggs. As much as I love my riding boots, they just aren't as comfy! If only I had that Rolex and Burberry bag to jazz it up....

Visit {long Distance loving} for more Fall Festive ensembles. I can't wait to browse. Have a great weekend!

End of Season at East Chop Light

It was 80 and sunny on Martha's Vineyard over Columbus Day Weekend - unbelievable! Ted is spending the rest of the week on the island fishing the annual Derby. We had some time to kill before my ferry back yesterday so we took in the gorgeous view at East Chop Light, the highest point on the Vineyard.

I was sad (and jealous) to leave solo ... plus I could have used some help with my shopping bags. Columbus Day sales - mission accomplished.

Long Island Wine and Spirits Tour

No sleeping in for me last Saturday morning. I was up early to head out to the North Fork of Long Island for a wine tour with friends.

It took about an hour and 20 minutes from Midtown to reach our first stop, Martha Clara Vineyards. Upon learning the winery was owned by the Entenmann family all I could think of were crumb donuts. Here I am with Lindsay and Amanda anxiously awaiting our first flight!

Next stop was Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard, which I visited last year and was happy to return. Amy cracked open some bottles for the group and I love this shot of Jenna posing with the wall-o-wine.

Baiting Hollow's famous "Merlot Meatballs" were to die for and I couldn't resist the chili and spinach dip while I was in the comfort food zone. The Mirage red blend was my favorite wine and a portion of the proceeds go toward their horse rescue operation.

Shots anyone? Long Island Spirits vodka distillery was conveniently located next door.

Definitely unnecessary... but included in our package so why not! Here we are in front of the potato fields. Cheers!

Thanks to Lindsay for planning the perfect fall day and Amy for letting me steal a few of her pictures! :)

Initial Offerings

Leave it to Town and Country to feature a monogrammed Mercedes! And I must say, Chuck Taylors never looked so good. (You can see enlarged images of the October spread here.)

What isn't improved with a monogram? This weekend I broke out my new case from Peapod Announcements. They often have great promotions so be on the lookout.
