Boston Weekend

Shirt: Old Navy. Shorts: J. Crew Factory. Shoes: Jack Rogers.

I spent a long weekend in Boston for a wedding. It was no surprise that Ted picked the Fenway area to meet up with friends for happy hour. We are looking forward to a Yankees vs. Red Sox game later in the summer back in New York.

On a side note for readers in Boston - My friend and I got custom airbrush spray tans at Perfect Tan and we loved the results. Neither of us are regular spray tanners so we didn't know what to expect and were a little nervous for our 10:30 PM spray tan date. I was reading the reviews on Yelp and this nailed it:
This was unlike any other airbrush tan. Other times the airbrush itself was small, much like the ones they use to airbrush nails.  This one was huge, like the ones they airbrush shirts with on the Jersey Shore.
Well, it got the job done. I hope I can make it back there before my other special occasions in Boston this year.

This is what we wore to the wedding... recap to come. Monday night didn't allow much time to get anything done. I had to watch Bachelorette and Carrie Underwood on Oprah's Next Chapter that I had recorded. The interview will be airing again next weekend (dates here), set your DVR. It's a must-see!

Friday's Fancies: Chambray Season

Bridier Baubles LUXE Link Short (Tortoise) $40
(Currently out of stock but will be back in soon)

This week's Friday's Fancies is all about chambray. I have a chambray button down shirt from Old Navy that I love but went a different route and started out with a pair of shorts. Kate Middleton was seen recently wearing those wedges (check it out on What Kate Wore), want!

I'm off to Boston for the weekend. Wish I could pack this outfit to wear on Saturday shopping along Newbury and Charles Streets. See you next week!

Pink and Green Thursday

I can't think of a better way to celebrate spring and Mother's Day than a Pink & Green Weekend on Martha's Vineyard.

This new tradition by the Edgartown Board of Trade took place last weekend and included a Pink & Green Ball.

There were some pictures of the event on the What's Up Martha Facebook page. No surprise, I spotted lots of ladies in Lilly under those pink and green poms.

Lilly Pulitzer Amberly Dress $228

If I could have picked something new for the event it would be the dress on the left. The pattern name says it all - Prep Green Pink Twinkle!

Lobsta

I draw inspiration from my blog everywhere... including my lunch. I celebrated a colleague's birthday at STK Midtown and was sold on the lobster cobb salad immediately (lobster, deviled quail eggs and prosciutto). Not only one of my favorite foods, but favorite motifs as well.

Virginia Johnson Giant Tote & Mini Cosmetic Bag in Lobster Cocoa $98, $45

Weekend Update

This sums up most of my weekend. Food. So that means this week will be all about working it off. Ted and I went to Extra Virgin in the West Village for brunch on Saturday. It's a little awkward sitting outside at a popular restaurant that doesn't take reservations... the wait grew twofold during our meal. Stop staring at my baked eggs!

Top: LC Lauren Conrad. Jeans: Joe's Socialite Kicker. Sandals: Jack Rogers
Necklace: Max & Chloe. Sunnies: Kate Spade (similar here).

I finally wore white jeans and miraculously didn't spill anything on them. Do you adhere to the no white before Memorial Day rule? Interesting piece on the subject last year at Social Primer. Well, SP would not approve of my denim color choice!

I spent Sunday with my amazing mother doing what we do best, shopping. I love looking at pictures of her when she was my age. Here are just a few of my favorite "outfit of the day" shots. She would have had a great style blog, don't you think?
Love you, Mom! xoxo

Wild Horses

As much as I love watching the Derby and know those horses receive top notch care I can't help but imagine them just running free. Such beautiful animals!

Weekend Update: Surprise!

Top: Forever 21 (recent). Pants: Zara.
I wish I was posting a picture in front of the entrance of Churchill Downs... instead you see me with my trifecta bet for the Kentucky Derby that Ted and I placed at Downs at Lehigh in Allentown, PA. We made the pitstop to place the bets on our way to a very special event...

My best friend Sara got engaged! Chris got down on one knee and asked her to marry him at the restaurant on Main Street in Bethlehem where they went on their first date. Ted and I saw it all go down along with their parents across the street inside Hotel Bethlehem. We could tell from at least 50 yards away that she was completely surprised. (I might have missed my calling as a paparazza.)

Could she have been wearing a more appropriate dress? Apparently it was the first thing she took out of the closet and Chris said, "Yes! Wear that!" She scheduled a pedicure for herself the day before and he encouraged her to get her nails done as well to relax since she just finished up her education classes for the semester. Just one of the many signs she noticed after the fact. We went on to spend the rest of the night celebrating.

Congratulations and best wishes Sara and Chris!
