NYC to MV

via Pinterest

I'm off to Martha's Vineyard for the Fourth via the fast ferry from Manhattan. I wish I had time for a few posts this week.... but was busy procrastinating packing. I have a hard time planning for 2 days, let alone 9. Enjoy the holiday and I'll see you the following week.

Clutch Alert

via Instgram (Follow me - msslindsay)
I bought this pearl clutch at Zara over the weekend. I have been looking for an evening bag that I could wear with both silver and gold and since the zipper on this is hidden it works with both. The Tiffany blue backing is subtle in person. It measures 10.5"x7.5".

I like that it has slots inside for cards. Hopefully this will prevent me from losing my license for a 3rd time this year.

Friday's Fancies: Block Party

YSL Belle De Jour Patent Leather Clutch $698

Pink and orange... yes please!

You can rent the dress for $150 from Rent The Runway. I've never rented a dress before, but have thought about for a few occasions. One of these days I will rent an Hervé Léger and pray I don't rip it or accidentally run it over it with my car (specifically not covered in their insurance policy).

Tobi Like Color Block Dress $50 $35

A much more affordable pink/orange color block number from Tobi.

Have a great weekend!

Towne and Reese Jewelry

I hate to say that I'm a little bored of Bachelorette this season, but it's the truth. Maybe I'm ruining it for myself because I read the spoilers. Nonetheless, I still spend the 2 hours to see what Emily Maynard is wearing. I loved her boots, leather jacket and scarves from tonight's episode. It won't be long before fall fashion is out... summer is flying by.

I wanted to share that Pea Pod Paper and Gifts is having a Towne and Reese Jewelry promotion - 20% off through 6/22 with code FALLINLOVE. As seen on Emily... the Brooke Earrings. (I ordered my monogrammed iPhone case from this company and get their emails... love the site and they have great customer service.)

Emily is wearing the mint. I am also liking the white.

Lots of other cute jewelry (this turquoise ring was also seen on Emily). Happy Shopping!

Skirtin Around

Top: Vince (old). Necklace: Max & Chloe. Skirt: BCBG. Clutch: Forever 21 (recent). Wedges: MICHAEL Michael Kors.

Ah, Monday already. This is what I wore Saturday night. I recently bought this BCBG red, white and blue bandage skirt at Lord & Taylor. I held back on getting it at first because I wasn't sure exactly what I would pair with it. (That is why I primarily wear dresses.) I forgot about it until I saw it on sale.

Next time I'll wear a white top to change it up. My outfit inspiration...

KORS Michael Kors Vivian in Nude patent $195
Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC bag in Almond  $195
BaubleBar Medium Monogram Necklace  $105

Side note... I met a reader randomly for the first time over the weekend. She was so sweet and it made my day that she recognized me from my lil' ol' blog. :)

Friday's Fancies: Outfit Crush

I love Rosie Huntington-Whitely's style and along with fellow Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr she is one of my fashion icons. They always look so effortlessly chic. It didn't take long to find an "outfit crush" for this week's Friday's Fancies edition. The shorts are Christopher Kane for J Brand... want!!

In my search of embellished jorts I came across this star pair... wouldn't these be perfect for the Fourth? (Sadly I didn't find anything comparable to the daisies... just lots of studs.)

Speaking of Victoria's Secret... did you have any luck at the sale? Unless you are there when the store opens I find that is gets picked over very quickly. I was happy to find some Pink items in pink on the 2nd day.

Now I love a sale... but was glad that this top didn't get marked down because I have yet to wear it. I hateeeee when that happens.

Have a great weekend!

Tortoise

I don't typically wear statement necklaces but every now and then I will be brave and try something new. I featured this tortoise link necklace from Bridier Baubles in a post recently and couldn't resist ordering. The orange packaging was especially nice and made it a treat to open.

And now for a random assortment of tortoise ...

Danielle and Matt's Engagement Party

Over the weekend I went to an engagement party in New Jersey for two of my very best friends. Danielle and Matt are getting married next July in Lake Placid! You may recall a few trips I have taken up there with them in the winter months. I have no doubt that it will be absolutely beautiful in the summer and can't think of a more perfect place for their wedding.

Guests wore name tags with their relation to the bride and groom. Lindsay - AOII and Bridesmaid!

Part of the "Welcome" sign read...
Who are you??
Well, you are someone important to us and we want all of the special people in our lives to get to know each other. Please fill out a sticker with a creative way to explain your relation to the bride and groom.

The favors were green and red Adirondack chairs with their wedding date.

Sara - French Connection (sold out, similar), Danielle - RACHEL Rachel Roy, Amanda - French Connection, Corinne - J. Crew, Me - Lilly Pulitzer (old)

The Lehigh crew, aka my best friends! I have to say, it was a great round up of dresses.

Ted and some of the guys playing bocce.

I absolutely loved the flower centerpieces and table accents that Matt's mother created using all different size vases, sunflowers and sunflower birdseed.

Block Island Bags - Left to Right: My Marc by Marc Jacobs Nylon Tate Tote (similar here), Cory's Longchamp Le Pliage Large Tote, Joanna's Vera Bradley (sadly this is a retired style), Dineen's Lands' End Medium Natural Open Top Canvas Tote Bag

A few totes that caught my eye...

Lands' End Madras Handle Tote $31.99

Classic and durable. (With a touch of pink and green!)

Made from recycled sails.

A dream beach tote. Sigh.

P.S. Use Ebates for cash back. Lands' End 6%, J. Crew 3%, Shopbop 2.5% as of 6/8. It all adds up!

What I'm Loving...

Absolutely loving this look featured on Tuckernut Style.

I was inspired to try a few products from Whole Foods by Sea of Shoes earlier this year. This is one that I love. The only downside is that it does not have SPF, so I primarily use it as a night cream.

I love when Lord and Taylor has their 25% off Friends and Family sale... great excuse for some new Jacks! There is a limited selection online so I called the store first thing this morning to put the navy/platinum on hold. My gold pair has just about had it... almost time to swap these in.

Just in case you needed a reminder, Lilly Pulitzer will be on Rue La La tomorrow. The madras Cameron Dress is featured in the preview and was one of my favorites last summer. Lilly love!

For the bride...

The gift table... we kept it classy (for the most part).

This "Itsy Bitsy" whale card from Jenny Sweeney Designs matched my Philosophy gift perfectly.

I loved the personalized wine labels. (Anyone recognize the Two/Three Buck Chuck?)

Dress: Forever 21. Necklace: Max & Chloe.

Block Island Bachelorette Weekend

via Instagram (Follow me - msslindsay)
I spent Memorial Day weekend on Block Island (located off the coast of Rhode Island) for my friend Dineen's bachelorette festivities. We have been friends since elementary school and it was great to finally meet her college friends and celebrate.

Dineen's sister and cousin organized a private yin yoga class in the living room of our beautiful weekend home. We were all a little sore the next day but it was well worth it. I loved the island breeze coming through the doors and windows during the class.

The bride-to-be insisted we all drink Rhode Island brewed Narragansett when we arrived at the bar. We were stocked with food at the house but there was no way I was leaving the island without having a lobster roll.

A few of my favorite scenes... we sat on the edge of the dock with our morning coffee.

Here I am with some of the girls at the Block Island Southeast Lighthouse.

More to come... I took a few days off after the trip before starting a new job.
I have lots to catch up on!
