Wedding Wednesday

We have been overjoyed with congratulations, best wishes, thoughtful cards and gifts. My girlfriends have provided lots of reading material.

From my MOH...
"The magazine is to help plan and the glasses and pain killers are to deal with the planning!"

We have a date on hold and are waiting for the contract to be finalized. When and where (easy guess) to follow. Woo!

I hope everyone and their families on the East Coast are safe and dry from Hurricane Sandy. I have been without power - those flameless candles I blogged about the other day have come in handy! My office is close by and open, so I've been able to get online.

Happy Hallo-Wine

via Instagram - Follow me msslindsay
My friends Matt and Danielle hosted a day of Halloween festivities over the weekend including pumpkin carving. I wish I could take credit for this one, there is a bag of Franzia inside with a cutout for the spout.

Funfetti, my speciality.

There was lots of yummy food, including this Pumpkin Cheese Ball. Chef Corinne suggests adding another cup of cheddar to the recipe to make it more orange in color.

Our zombie bride and groom hosts. They are getting married next July in Lake Placid... who knew the planning would get so stressful so soon.

I found matching outfits for our drinks.

My Lehigh girls reunited!

Reenacting some of the replacement referee calls with Lindsay, Wes Walker, and Joe, NFL Red Zone, before heading out to the bar.

We all debated whether we wanted to dress up or not over text messages and email leading up to the party. I'm glad we pulled everything together last minute, so much fun!

Lately...

I needed some flameless candles for sconces and my mom came across a great set at Costco. It included 7 candles in various sizes and a remote control for $30. Yes, remote control! They also have red for the holidays. I have two on the wall and the others in a grouping on my coffee table.

The tray was an awesome apartment warming gift from a friend along with the blue coasters from Anthropologie. They definitely know my taste!

I took advantage of a recent Lord and Taylor sale to get this Ella Moss top. It's great with leggings and ballet flats for a causal day.

I received Dior Diorshow Mascara to try courtesy of People StyleWatch. I've heard so many great reviews on this particular wand but like to replace my mascara frequently so usually buy drug store brands. It takes a few less coats with this brush to get the full coverage that I like. However, I still prefer a plastic brush for definition so my friend suggested Diorshow Iconic. Next on the list to try.

On the subject of Dior makeup... if you have an urge to splurge I would recommend the eyeshadow palettes. Since it's shimmery I save for special nights out. I also just like looking at the pretty packaging my makeup bag.

What's your favorite high-end mascara?

Fall Hurricane

The new apartment is finally furnished! I'm really happy with how everything came together and look forward to sharing. Once I had all of the furniture (we were sans coffee table for weeks) I focused on the details - I needed a fall touch. Since I'm in a small space and don't have much room to store seasonal decor this hurricane jar comes in handy. You may have seen my summer and Easter versions. It's so easy to switch up.

Gold spray painted (real) acorns. You can also buy a set from Pottery Barn.

I mixed in some potpourri with the acorns.

I'm already thinking about what I will do for the holidays... I will be switching it out while listening to Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving.

90+ Cellars

My friend Kate gave me and Teddy this bottle of 90+ Cellars Prosecco last weekend. Not only was it great but I loved the concept behind the brand. The company purchases surplus wines from vineyards around the world and strips the label to bring you a highly rated wine at a great price. You will know the area the wine is from and a few details but the winery remains anonymous. Win-win for all!

There is controversy around the wine scoring system but to put in most basic terms, wine is rated on a 100 point scale by industry experts and publications with over 90 points being excellent. I am definitely going to be trying other "lots" - each wine has it's own number.

90+ Cellars is available in every New England state, New York, New Jersey, Illinois, and Dallas, Texas.

P.S. Don't forget, today is the LAST day to enter my Irina Victoria Jewelry Giveaway!

Good Morning

Sunglasses: Fossil. Sweater: H&M. Scarf: F21 (old). Pants: Target. Bag: Anthropologie (old). Sandals: Jack Rogers.
Thankfully I came prepared for all types of weather for Columbus Day on Martha's Vineyard. I went from wearing a dress on a warm and sunny day to pants, a sweater and winter scarf the next cool fall morning. Since I was headed to see Ted fishing on the beach I wore my sandals instead of booties. (So much for retiring them after Labor Day. Just not possible!)

Morning, I brought breakfast!

I stopped by my favorite breakfast and coffee spot in downtown Edgartown, Espresso Love, for a gingerbread latte and "Cadillac" bagel with veggies and cream cheese. Soo sooo good.

I sat and watched Ted fish for a little and called a few friends to tell them about our engagement the day before.

Back to business.

I didn't witness any catching in person... this guy was set free after his Facebook photo op on Ted's profile.

Unfortunately none of Ted's catches made the fishing Derby leaderboard. I guess we'll just have to come back next year! :)

Irina Victoria Jewelry Giveaway

First off, I want to thank everyone for their sweet comments yesterday. In other good news, today I am launching a giveaway for Irina Victoria Jewelry! This jewelry line is handcrafted in New England with lots of love. Here are a few of my favorite pieces and the inspiration behind the fall line.

Gold Beaded Wrap Bracelet $45
ENTER TO WIN THIS BRACELET!

I’ve always had a deep connection with fall and winter as I was born on the winter solstice. If you’ve ever been to New England in the fall, you know the season is enchanting. The vibrant crunchy foliage, the apples and bumpy pumpkins, the crisp air, and bundling up under a fleece blanket knowing snow fall is just around the corner. The textures and layering associated with the two seasons along with my own memories were the inspiration for this collection. ~ Irina

Another piece I had to showcase are these adorable stack rings.

Irina has been kind enough to offer one lucky winner a wrap bracelet in the color of their choice. To enter, complete the Rafflecopter entry below. Once you sign up, visit Irina Victoria Jewelry and share your favorite piece in the comments section of this post. You can then check off the first entry for the Rafflecopter. There are also opportunities for extra entries via Facebook and Twitter.

I said...

YES! Ted asked me to marry him on Saturday aboard the Stardust during a sunset cruise around Edgartown Harbor on the Vineyard.

Hmmm... now I know why he was clutching that jacket. Something special was in the pocket!

Dress: Old Navy. Bag: Rebecca Minkoff. Necklace: Max & Chloe. Sandals: Jack Rogers.

No attitude when I asked him to take my picture. Something must be up.

We were sitting on the bow of the boat taking in the view, picking out our dream home and laughing about our favorite Vineyard memories. Our awesome captain Doug took a picture when Ted popped up on one knee and proposed. This is by far my favorite Vineyard memory and the happiest day of my life!

Just in case we want to go back to that exact spot...

Not pictured: Champagne!

After the boat cruise we went to dinner at Alchemy on Main Street. More champagne!

The next morning Teddy sent me a picture of "our" boat from the beach where he was fly fishing. It's docked by the lighthouse and I love that year after year we will see it.

I LOVE YOU TEDDY!

Tory Burch Friends and Fans Event - 25% off with code TBFRIENDS
Reva Ballet Flats are excluded, but these aren't!

My mom's sunflowers. I had to stop home to pick up some things for my trip....

Sunglasses: Fossil. Top, Leggings: F21. Scarf: Cynthia Rowley (recent T.J. Maxx find). Boots: Frye.

On the Vineyard with Teddy through Monday! We took the ferry over this morning. I only made it to the island once this summer, so I am very excited to be back. The weather looks like it will be on the warmer side, but I had to wear my new Frye Carmen Harness boots (yes, the Emily Maynard pair). When I last posted about these, they were out of stock. Last week I woke up in the middle of the night and saw on my phone I received an email alert from Zappos that they were available. I went back to sleep and dreamed I didn't get them in time. I ordered them first thing when I woke up. It was a sign! Now that I'm spent these fashion nightmares need to stop...

Have a great weekend!

Dineen and Matt

Dineen and I have been friends since meeting on the elementary school playground in Connecticut... you would probably find us sitting under a tree and she willingly let me experiment doing hairwraps on her (think embroidery floss friendship bracelet in your hair). Years later we spent many, many hours together on the high school yearbook committee and I can thank her for all the funny moments. She has a great eye for photography so it came to no surprise that she would pick a creative spot for her engagement photos - the terminal in Philadelphia where she would wait to meet her future hubby Matt during their college summers apart.

The ceremony and reception were held at the The Racquet Club of Philadelphia. I loved the family wedding photos displayed on the piano of The Reading Room for the cocktail hour.

The cheese and antipasto was served on an enormous table... it was amazing!

Beautiful centerpieces.

The first dance in the grand marble foyer.

The cake had Philadelphia flair - Robert Indiana's LOVE sculture.

Surprise guest! The Phillie Phanatic made an appearance on the dance floor.

With the beautiful bride!

Congratulations Dineen and Matt, we had a blast celebrating with you! xo
