Tarjay Finds

Kristin Ess Shampoo & Conditioner $10/each

This is by far my favorite Target discovery lately. Kristin Ess is a celebrity stylist... Lauren Conrad... need I say more. I was looking for a budget friendly option to put into rotation and was intrigued when I saw this new display on the shelves. I haven't had any luck finding a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner until now. This is mid range (since you can get many combos on sale 2/$10) but the results are $$$.

How cute is this flamingo hoodie?!There is also a boy's shark version, and they are both on clearance. I've been picking up storage bins for our upcoming move... pink and blue and just $7.99 for a decent size.

Here are other girls items I have bought recently. Sorry boy moms, I know my content is skewed... but I do buy Lexi stripes from the boys section pretty often.

Steve Madden Jole Embellished Slide Sandals $69.95  vs. Merona Margo Pearl Slide Sandals $24.99

You probably saw my dupe alert on Instagram. I am keeping them both! They go with everything... and hello... pearls.

If you like this type of feature let me know... love sharing my Tarjay finds!

Lexi in Lilly

Tank: Stateside (from Slate, Edgartown). Shorts: BLANKNYC (from Havana Jeans, Stamford). Sandals: Jack Rogers. Sunglasses: Perverse. Lexi's Dress: Lilly Pulitzer. Sandals: Old Navy. Tote: LL Bean.

What I would do to be sitting on the Harbor View porch right now (and all summer)! August is going to be a crazy month for us. We are moving (not far) and both traveling for work and fun... I have my agenda open next to me and I'm stressed out just looking at it. We won't be back to the Vineyard until the fall... but close by on the Cape and possibly Nantucket.

I bought Lexi's Lilly shift during the big summer sale last August. That reminds me I need to stake out anything I might want to get for next year. Seriously, everything sells out so quickly, especially for kids.

Have a great week!

Don't Blink

I am finally getting around to putting pictures on my computer from the summer... I thought it would be fun to compare Lexi on her ferry ride over to the Vineyard this year to last Fourth of July. What a difference a year makes... her bow also doubled in size! (I think she'll have to wear white from Gap every year now.)

Sale Sale Sale

The Legging Raw Hem Ankle Skinny Jeans $149.90 (After Sale $225)
This is one of the items I ordered during early access. Year after year these are my favorite style. I am 5'2" ish so I love that they are ankle length. They also have a distressed version ... if I could have them all I would.

This blouse is great year round. It is low cut... sometimes I wear a bralette underneath instead of a regular bra. The black color is in my cart if I do another shopping round.

Yes... there are other OTK boots out there but they don't quite compare. I have a couple other variations in black so adding the brown to my collection this year. Anecdote... Stuart Weitzman himself approached me in Grand Central to comment on my boots last winter! He said I wear them well... so obviously I need another pair.

I've been using this shower gel and lotion for a couple months. I bought them as gifts... and then bought them as a gift for myself. That said, these would be great for a friend's birthday.

Burberry Pensham Quilted Jacket $499.90 (After Sale $795)
I bought a similar style Burberry quilted jacket in beige 8 years ago and still wear it. Timeless! You might have better luck with this in store than online.

------

It's easy to go a little crazy with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that just opened to the public today. I woke up at 3AM when Early Access launched. I had my mind set to order the boots... but it took me an hour to pull the trigger. I even took out my black pair of boots, packed away on the top shelf of my closet, to try on while I debated. At 4AM I was wearing boots and pajamas at my kitchen table...told myself I have a problem and need to go back to sleep.

After seeing all my favorite bloggers model everything on their blogs and Instagram...literally every item in the sale... there are more things I am wishing I bought during early access that are sold out now. I could blog all day and night about what I wish I had. That said, I'm focusing on what I already own or bought to keep it simple for you all!

Here I am wearing the Lush blouse and a distressed version of the AG ankle jeans on a cool day last week. This trench is marked down outside of the sale... it is one of my favorite purchases from the spring. And while there are several great ankle booties part of the sale... I am still wearing this pair from Target.

This Free People dress is available in a few different color combos. If you prefer the blue and white, it is available here (unfortunately not on sale at the moment). I plan to wear it in the early fall with booties and a beige cardigan.

Lexi's Little Giraffe Luxe Blanket is included. I had mine monogrammed and brought to the hospital. It comes in several colors and is the softest blanky ever.

And we can't forget about the guys. Ted's Patagonia Nano Puff jacket is a staple. The Better Sweater zip up is also included. This is one of the brands that sells out quickly...so get it while you can. As I'm writing this I realize that the Freshley Picked moccasins Lexi is wearing are also part of the sale. Like the blanket, these would be a great shower gift.

As I mentioned... I could go on and on. I hope this helps narrow down some things to focus on. Good luck with the sale!

PS -The Stuart Weitzman Highland over-the-knee boots are on sale for 40% off here... I can't believe it because these rarely ever go on sale and are usually excluded. They have a higher heel and are my favorite of all.

PPS - Longchamp and Ray Ban are on Rue La La today at 11AM EST. You might have seen Lexi carrying this bag on my Instagram stories yesterday. It is one of my favorites!

Wedding Guest Dresses

BGBGMAXAZIA Alissa Dress

Anyone else have a busy wedding season? Ted and I will be attending 4 between August and September. It's time for a few new dresses in my rotation. I finally spent some time looking online and have some winners. Next I need to look up how to survive with an 18-month old on a 5-hour flight... because Miss Lexi will be traveling to Park City, Utah with us for one of them.

BCBG has a sale going on with 40% off all dresses (ending Monday night)... and in just a couple days many have been scooped up. Sorry, I should have linked them up sooner! I think everyone is in shopping mode lately.  I posted some try on pics over the weekend on my Instagram stories for feedback and had several people ask for the styles, so here they are.

The pink lace dress was the favorite. I knew right away I would be keeping it!

BGBGMAXAZIA Kimbriella Dress

I found this style on sale during Prime Day. I was on the fence (too ruffly?) but thanks to my Instagram friends it has a home in my closet.

BGBGMAXAZIA Mabel Dress

This dress went both ways... some loved it and others said it didn't look like it fit. Well... surprise I decided to keep it also. I had this in mind for a welcome event the night before one of the weddings, and as someone else pointed out it can be dressed up or down.

A few tips for shopping this brand... hold out for a sale. I've never paid full price and I have had the best luck shopping in person at Lord & Taylor.  You can also find styles on Rent The Runway and recommend checking to see if it's available there before you buy (love this black number).

I'm one of those that has been in shopping mode lately... so more to come on here!

Island Time

Dress: Target. Bag: Gucci.

Take me back to the Vineyard! I was lucky enough to be on the island a nice long stretch over the holiday weekend with family and friends.

I found my cold shoulder dress from Target right before our trip. I love the mixed pattern. I plan to wear a navy cardigan or utility jacket over it for work. Kate's blue and white dress is from H&M... I can't find it online but hope I see it in store.

Today happens to be National Piña Colada Day and seeing all of the pineapples on Instagram made me think back to our vacation drink vessel.  When Kate and I both ordered the same cocktail at The Covington, the bartender asked if we would like to share it out of a copper pineapple. Um... is that even a question? Yes, please! You can buy the exact one from Absolut Elyx that holds 27 oz. I am obsessed, just wish that it came with 2 straws. Here is a similar 12 oz option and another 22 oz version for less.

Cheers!
