CHET Dream Big! Competition

DREAM BIG! Hard to believe the first weeks of kindergarten are in the books for Lexi. Time to start thinking ahead. We’ve recreated the classroom at home and Lexi has been working on her @CHET529 Dream Big! Competition submission for a chance to win a 529 college savings account contribution. The CHET Dream Big! Competition is open to students in grades k-8 and high school seniors for a chance to win money for higher education.

I asked Lexi what she will do when she grows up, after college (“When will I go to college, Mom?) to help others in her community (What does community mean?) and after a bit of explaining she knew her plan… teach others to dance. “Dancing makes people happy!” She drew the cutest picture of herself as a dance teacher with her students on our chalkboard. Here’s the scoop on how to enter!

Kids in Grades K-8: Enter for a chance to win a $529 CHET account contribution by responding to the question “How have or will you help the community?” 477 k-8 grade students from around Connecticut will be selected Entries can be in essay form, art (drawing, painting, poem, or photograph), video

High School Senior Class of 2022: $100,000 will be awarded to 80 high school seniors 5 winners will each win $5,000 with another 75 winners receiving $1,000 Students need to provide information on their academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and community service, and respond to the question, “What are your future goals to have a voice or leadership role in your own community?” Submissions must be uploaded as an essay or video

Spring Things

Happy April, friends! A roundup of what's in my closet or shopping cart for spring plus some of my latest skincare and beauty favorites.

1. Skincare and Beauty must-haves:
I was devastated when my favorite serums were discontinued... so I caved and have been using Skinceuticals. I recently met up with a college friend and her skin was glowing - she swore (like many) by these products so I had to give them a try.
2. Renwick Polo Dress (Use code LINDSAY20 for 20% off)
Stripes alert! Absolutely loving Renwick, a golf apparel brand recently launched by a friend and her sister. The material feels amazing and the fit is so comfortable. You must check out their line of shirts and dresses. This dress is perfect for every day or as a pool coverup... I'll be living in it this spring and summer. I want every color!
I am constantly misplacing my Air Pods case or mixing it up with Ted's... love this cute little case.
I lived in my black pair last summer.... so I bought a few pairs and colors to try. They were hard to "track" down last year so I recommend ordering now!
Should this have been Forty-Love? I'll forever wonder if this was a design mishap. If anyone asks, I'm receiving.
Great alternative to the popular Yeti tote... a great brand for a fraction of the price.
The last thing I need is another headband... but if I did it would be this.

Family Photos

Sharing a few of my favorites from our October family photo session that we used for our holiday cards. The sweat and tears that went into getting ready for these photos was worth it. I'm so happy with how they turned out and loved twinning with Lexi. Our photographer, Karen Morneau, worked her magic and actually got Chase to look at the camera!

Happy Friday!

My Valentine's Day Picks

I went to Target on Christmas Eve and they were already putting out everything for Valentine's Day! If you want to order someone special anything personalized, now is the time! Here are a few of my picks for the fam and a few other gift ideas if that's your thing.

I will be ordering the books for the kids this week to add to our holiday collection and already got Lexi these conversation heart leggings. I don't like to have a lot of kitchen appliances but couldn't resist this little waffle maker. I'll report back on IG how it goes!

I would probably personalize these with "You owe me" or something passive aggressive.
Ted bought this for me (us) for Christmas!
I've used my heart tag keychain since I graduated high school!
Did you know Junior Mints are made in a nut free facility?
True story... I showed this collage to Ted and he didn't even notice this. Ha!
Ted and I have been using similar glasses for cocktails. Classic!

Lexi and Chase throwbacks!

The Gap always has the cutest clothes for Valentine's Day. Here are my picks.

XOXO
