Our favorite time to visit Martha's Vineyard is September for so many reasons. For Ted, I think it's safe to say fishing The Derby comes in a close second to our wedding anniversary. The weather is gorgeous and the summer crowds have dwindled.

We always take our car over on the ferry from Woods Hole. We left at 7AM and had a little time to spare for the boat at noon. The car rides to and from the ferry are rough... I'm not going to lie. Between Lexi and Chase we never know how many pit stops we'll make.
He is a handful... and looks so big at this angle. It's hard to navigate a stroller on the ferry so I always suggest a carrier if anyone asks. I will wear Chase until my back breaks... which will be soon because he's getting big.
After we unloaded our car the first stop was lunch at The Newes. It is one of my favorite spots in Edgartown. Ted got a free bag of fries with his Derby pass... I prefer the onion rings (seriously, they are amazing) but who denies free fries.
It's not so easy to shop downtown with my stroller in tow since all the stores have a step and narrow entry... so I usually spend my time walking around town while sipping on coffee and admiring all of the beautiful homes.
Hanging out at the Harbor View with Mr. Chase. He was on the lookout for Ted and Lexi coming back from the beach.
Lexi went on her first off land fishing excursion with Ted and his brother. As you can see, she was so excited to be on her uncle's boat.
We also brought her to the top of the Edgartown Lighthouse. A little nervous at first but all smiles at the top.
I forgot to bring my "fancy" camera but usually take most pictures on my phone anyway. Other highlights included several stops at Rosewater for coffee and dinner at State Road up island.
