Lake Placid Rehearsal Dinner

Matt and Danielle's rehearsal dinner was held at the Lake Placid Olympic Jumping Complex.

A tent was set up at the top of the mountain.

The bride and groom had festive Adirondack glasses.

Twinsies.

The ski jumping exhibition was a highlight of the event. I can't believe that ski jumpers don't need snow to practice - we were in awe! The world-class and Olympian jumpers took photos and signed autographs.

Matt's family knows how to throw awesome events... somehow I think this lovely rainbow after a brief downpour was planned.

Wedding Weekend in Lake Placid

I spent an amazing weekend in Lake Placid for the wedding of two of my best friends, Matt and Danielle. They have hosted us many times at their mountain retreat and we were so excited when they decided to get married here. Matt's aunts and uncles hosted an "Eye Opener Breakfast & Take Away Lunch" by the lake on Friday morning.

The other bridesmaids and I surprised Danielle by wearing shirts from her bachelorette party.

The take away lunches were catered by Simply Gourmet Big Mountain Deli and Crêperie in ECOBAGS. It's a must visit eatery every time I visit Lake Placid. Their menu includes 46 yummy sandwich selections named after the highest Adirondack peaks.

Adirondack activities were displayed on cards along with directions. Matt's brother led a group on a cliff jumping excursion and other suggestions included mountain biking, sighting and kayaking. Ted went golfing and I accompanied the bride and groom on a hike up Owls Head Mountain.

Leading us to the summit.

This was just the beginning of an unforgettable weekend with Matt and Danielle! More to come...

Napa and Co

via Instagram (Follow me - msslindsay)
One of my favorite restaurants in Stamford is Napa & Co. For Sara's bachelorette I reserved the wine cellar room and arrived early to set up a nautical tablescape in keeping with her wedding theme. We started our meal off with a selection of cheeses that didn't last long.

Cheers!

This nautical banner is from Creative Party Banners. I was beyond happy with how it turned out.

We all ordered one of these two delicious dishes:

Sheep's Milk Ricotta Gnocchi
Braised veal breast, sage veloute, Molitero cheese

English Pea Risotto
Lemon parmesan, cremini mushrooms, poached gulf shrimp

I brought in the candle centerpiece and starfish flameless candles from home. The "MERMAIDS WELCOME HERE" anchor was recently purchased from Home Goods. The other nautical accents were found at the Christmas Tree Shop. My amazingly crafty mother made the table runner for me and died the rope pink to match the color scheme.

After dinner we quickly packed up and headed out to the nearby bars for some bachelorette scavenger hunt fun. It was a great night!

Greenwich Polo Match

Last month I hosted my friend Sara's bachelorette festivities in Connecticut. In addition to the "Stamvegas" bar nights the weekend activities included a private sailing charter, dinner in Napa & Co's wine cellar room and a Greenwich polo match. Sara grew up riding, which was the inspiration for the culminating event. We packed sandwiches, snacks and plenty of beverages for the Sunday afternoon.

The bride-to-be popping the champs.

Close to the action.

White is usually a no-go at showers and bachelorettes unless you are the bride... not today. We made sure that Sara stood out with her sash!

Wish I could wear the floppy hat as well as Corinne.

Half-time divot stomping.

Almost a horse?

Wearing my Princess Kate polo wedges, the Stuart Weitzman Minx. You may be lucky enough to find your size here for half off. I would order another pair and save them if I could. I purchased mine from Rue La La back in the spring.

Amanda was Lillied out! Lifeguard Press generously sent me the Insulated Cooler in Lucky Charms around her shoulder to review. We used this to tote our sandwiches to the match. It's a great size and sturdy... also perfect for the beach.

My busy spring and summer hasn't allowed much time for blogging... I hope to share other recent events with you soon. Thanks for stopping by!
