Island Time

Remember me? Teddy and I had a great time on Martha's Vineyard over the holiday. We took a couple days off for an extended stay. I'm still adjusting from island time, it's been a short but busy work week in NYC. Hope to get on a regular posting schedule soon!

It was my 4th Fourth of July on the Vineyard and my 3rd watching the Edgartown Harbor fireworks from The Seafood Shanty Restaurant. We arrived early to stake out our spot since the upstairs window tables and outdoor deck is prime seating for the show. (My first year we watched the fireworks on the water, it was awesome!)

Above you see the Firecracker cocktail, the Shanty's annual festive drink. I tried the Lobster Quesidilla featured on the Food Network with Rachel Ray. You can find the recipe here. (You may have picked up by now that I'm a sucker for anything featured on TV even if I don't watch the show, which is highly likely unless it on Bravo.) It was delish!

I think the fireworks were the best I've seen yet. The sky was clear and there was lots of pink and green. Let's hope the summer doesn't go by too fast. I'll be back soon with more Vineyard updates. Cheers!
