During my last trip to the Cape I was on a mission to get my friend an authentic Eden Cape Cod Screwball bracelet (also known as the Cape Cod bracelet and Dennis bracelet). I figured I should get myself one while I was there!
The bracelets are hand made and sold at a small jewelry shop in Dennis called Eden and not available online. My friend Kate has worn one for years so she gave me the scoop on the store policies and buying procedure. She told me to expect two lines - one for browsing in the front of the store and the other along the side if you know what you want. I arrived shortly after the store opened in the morning and there was already this long line so went to the fast lane.
During the peak Cape season (end of June, July, August) you must request a ticket online for entry. If you plan to visit, be sure to check out their website for all of the information. Unfortunately there isn't a gallery to view the different styles but you can find the variations with some Googling.
Thankfully one of my friends that accompanied me had her checkbook because they only accept cash or check!
Anyone else been to Eden? I haven't taken my bracelet off since my visit over Memorial Day weekend!
interesting!! i love eccentric places like these...makes the jewelry much more special!

I have never been to Eden but I might have to go this summer when we are at the Cape. We always go to Forest Beach Goldsmith in Chatham each year so my daughter can add a charm to her bracelet.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I always lust after Cape Cod bracelets in harbor town and beachside jewelry stores, but I had no idea about the original Eden! I feel like if I'm going to take the plunge and finally get one I should buy it from the real place! :)

Oooh, I'd never heard of these... I want!
ReplyDeleteI have a bracelet! Been wearing it for almost 7 years now. It's a sign of someone from New England, whenever I see one :) Piece of advice, it will set airport metal detectors off if you don't unscrew it - something about separately the metal won't set it off!
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with the bracelet! If you don't mind me asking, what is the price point for the bracelet?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
A
Hi A! Sorry for the delayed response. The silver w/ gold ball was $140 plus tax.
DeleteI've been three times and the only reason I don't take my bracelet off is because, it's a pain to put it back on without the help of my friends lol
