Christmas Recap

Finally, the holiday recap. Miss Lexi looked like a doll for our Christmas photo! She was not feeling well when we took these pictures but you would never know. I found her outfit at Janie and Jack... I couldn't resist this sweet dress.

The photo shoot ended shortly after she spotted the ornaments behind her. There was no going back...

Slow down, Lexi! On our way to see Santa Claus on Christmas Eve... but first Starbucks. She loves when we put her behind the wheel.

We met Santa at the Greenwich Reindeer Festival. Of course Lexi fell asleep in the car just before we got there. Given the special circumstances I didn't want to wake her from her nap and be cranky... so Ted and I sat in the car for almost an hour haha. Welcome to parenthood. (Spoiler: She didn't look at Santa before sitting on his lap... that's why she looks so happy.)

Napkins: Lettermade. Mugs: Pottery Barn.

We had my parents over for dinner that night. I get my love of blue and white from my mom so I was excited to break out the new cocktail napkins for Cranberry Mules.

Skillets: Lodge.

I'm highlighting the best parts of the meal.. drinks and dessert. We actually made exactly what I did a few years ago (because we can't mess it up) and followed with Ina Garden's Skillet Brownies.

These Stuart Weitzman Highland boots were an early Christmas present for myself. I was always afraid that they wouldn't work for me because I'm only 5'2" but once I tried them on (and at least a portion of my leg wasn't covered) I had to have them. I was lucky to have a no exclusions coupon and couldn't pass up the opportunity to get them on sale. Sadly I don't think I will be wearing them much now that there is snow on the ground...taking no chances.

Flutes: Juliska.

After our Christmas morning mimosa toast we realized it was only 8:45 AM... last year we would have said "Cheers!" at noon.

Obviously this one was on the nice list as she made out very, very well with the presents. Her favorite was the plaid wrapping paper.

Hope you enjoyed the holidays as much as we did!

  2. What a wonderful, beautiful holiday with your little family. I love how Ted and Little Lexi are matchy-matchy in tartan. And those Stuart boots make your legs look so long! Good pick.

    1. Thank you! The tote is from LL Bean and I had it monogrammed by someone local.
