Kentucky Derby

My friends and I gathered at Southern Hospitality BBQ on the Upper East Side to watch the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. I can't even tell you how I excited I was to wear my hat!


I felt a little out of place on the subway heading to the bar. Corinne and I got some strange looks, haha.


We kicked off the festivities at 1PM with the signature Kentucky Derby drink! There were many more mint juleps... including a frozen version.


Our table of 16 all threw in money and picked the name of a horse out of the hat so we were all invested in the race.


The winning couple! Like us all, Sara was surprised when Animal Kingdom came in first.




Unfortunately Ted had to work on Saturday but he was able to throw on his new shirt and make it in time for the big run with 5 minutes to spare. Hope you all had a great Derby day too! Maybe next year we can make it to Churchill Downs.

    You look great! I caught the race right at the end as Animal Kingdom started taking off...was really cool to see.
