Charleston

I am looking forward to a trip with my mom to Charleston in May! It will be my first trip to South Carolina and I can't think of a prettier place to be in the spring.

We will be staying at The Vendue. I was happy to see it listed on Lilly Pulitzer's Charleston Travel Guide after I booked it. I am now putting together our itinerary - restaurants, shopping, tours.
Suggestions, please!

  2. You will have a fabulous time. The rooftop bar at the Vendue is so pretty! Here are my suggestions:
Dinner: Magnolia's, Cru Cafe, Slightly North of Broad, Mercato
Brunch/Lunch: Poogan's Porch, Hominy Grill, Tatooed Moose, Charleston Grill

I recommend visiting the market in the morning and some shopping on King's Street. Also heading out to Isle of Palms or Kiawah for a pretty day at the beach. There's a really good walking tour called Charleston Footprints that will guide you to see some of the city's highlights.

  9. Definitely visit Marketplace and Magnolia Gardens. If you like historical stuff, Fort Sumter is nice to visit.

  10. Be sure to dine at HUSK. Its burger was rated top 10 in the US on Forbes and Yahoo. I had it and loved it. Such a great atmosphere too. You really can't go wrong in Charleston though. Have a great time!
