Build-A-Beach

I love this beachy hurricane jar my mom puts together every summer. The sand is from the Outer Banks that I brought home from a trip in high school (I had no idea at the time why she wanted me to bring sand back!) and the shells were collected over the years.

My mom lives for blue and white so when I saw the surrounding porcelain shells at a shop in Chatham they were the perfect gift for her summer birthday. One of them still had a sticker on the bottom so I was able to find them online - they are from Andrea by Sadek and available here or by searching eBay. (A little more affordable than Herend.)

Joseph Sylvia State Beach

I'll be toting home some sand from Martha's Vineyard after my next trip to build my own beach! I look forward to this arrangement each year and can't wait to have my own.

  12. I love themed hurricane vases! I've done a little beach theme in my living room, but now that it's the end of Aug, I think I better start figuring out what I want to do for Fall! Summer went by way too fast! :(
