Abbrevs R Fab

Abbreviations OMG (oh my God), LOL (laugh out loud), FYI (for your information), BFF (best friends forever), TMI (too much information), IMHO (in my humble opinion) and WAG (wives and girlfriends) have been added to the revised online edition of the Oxford English Dictionary last week.

Interestingly, muffin top, "which describes the protuberance of fat above the waistband of a tight pair of trousers," did as well. Read more here.


FYI, WTF (pardon my French) did not make the cut.

    This is hysterical! My students will love to hear that their favorite abbrevs are in the dictionary. They are going to want to use them in their papers now!
